Helloooo guys! I have recently been looking around online for some cool new nail designs (I have come to a mental block - and on a bit of a leopard print overload, so wanted something completely different.) I was browsing through my youtube subscriptions and came across this little beauty and thought it was genius!! I'm pretty sure you will of seen these before, and I know there are lots of other blogs that you can look to for inspiration but I thought I would show you my attempt at the newspaper nail and how to re-create the look.
Products required:
- A nail polish of your choice (I find a pale pastel colour works best)
- 10 strips of newspaper
- A rubbing alcohol or a spirit such as vodka
- A small glass
- A clear top coat
Paint your nails in your desired colour and leave to dry.
Step 2.
Pour the rubbing alcohol or spirit into a small glass. Once nails are dry, dip one nail into the glass making sure to cover the entire nail with liquid. Once the nail is wet, take a small strip of newspaper and apply it to the nail. Hold it down for 20 - 30 seconds (making sure to keep the paper still or the print will smudge!).
Step 3.
Gently peel away the paper and you should be left with a backwards image of the print.
Step 4.
Repeat on each nail. Once complete, paint over the design with your clear top coat to seal the nail art.
Ta-dah! There you have it - such a simple yet striking design! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and I would love to see what you come up with if you have a go!
Lotsa love,
